BP Fuels Diversity and Inclusion Drive

Chris Cook comments on why good diversity and inclusion policies make good business sense
Tue 1st Sep 2020

Partner and Head of Employment and Data Protection Chris Cook comments following the news last week that BP has launched a plan to improve diversity and inclusion in the workplace.

Many people assume that diversity is a 'nice to have', but surprisingly statistics consistently show that businesses and firms with a more diverse and inclusive workplace outperform their competitors.

BP UK plans to report its ethnicity pay gap by 2022 in line with the implementation of the diversity and inclusion plan which aims to boost the representation of minority groups at all levels of the organisation.

Chris Cook states that "these individuals bring with them their own experiences and ideas allowing the workforce to be more flexible, versatile and an accurate representation of the outer society".
