Helen Young
EXPERTISE
Having gained broad-ranging expertise as a legal trainee, I have since specialised in commercial litigation and dispute resolution where I assist clients across all aspects of commerce.
I have gained particular expertise in commercial debt recovery, advising clients on how to recover money as quickly and cost-effectively as possible. I guide them through all aspects of SA Law’s fixed-fee Debt Recovery Scheme for uncontested debt, and offer specialist advice on contested and complex debt situations.
With the costs of litigation ever increasing and the courts trying to stamp out unnecessary litigation, my focus is to help clients make the wisest choices when pursuing debts.
I have a keen interest in education law, having grown up in a family of teachers I understand the demands on school places and I currently act for independent schools as part of my general practice.
I regularly advise parents on school admissions appeals, exclusions, complaints of discrimination and SEN. I also conduct breach of contract claims against higher education establishments.
I also write articles on a range of matters for the media and the SA Law website – you can read some of them here.
