As many organisations will be aware, the existing EU data protection provisions are due to be reformed by the GDPR which is expected to receive formal approval later this year and will be implemented approximately two years later. Many UK organisation will be required to alter their existing practices to ensure compliance with the new provisions.
The Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO) has this week published guidance on preparing for the GDPR and has strongly encouraged organisations to begin preparing for the change sooner, rather than later.
The guidance takes the form of a 12-step checklist which focuses on those aspects of the GDPR that are likely to have the greatest impact. The guidance can be accessed via the following link: https://ico.org.uk/media/2014146/gdpr-12-steps-infographic-201705.pdf
