A Statement of Changes in Immigration Rules was published yesterday, 1 July 2025, which implements some of the changes proposed in the Government’s Immigration White Paper, Restoring Control over the Immigration System.

With effect from 22 July 2025, the Skilled Worker Skills Threshold will increase to RQF Level 6. The general salary threshold for sponsorship as a Skilled Worker is rising from £38,700pa to £41,700pa.

In addition, Care Workers will be withdrawn from the Skilled Worker route with effect from 22 July 2025, although there will be Transitional Provisions (due to extend to 2028) for individuals already working as care workers under Skilled Worker visas.
