EXPERTISE

As a family law expert, I specialise in helping individuals and couples with the legal aspects of their relationship, and the issues that can affect them after a relationship breakdown.

I am particularly experienced in matters involving children, most notably wardship and international child abduction. I have successfully prevented the abduction of children, secured the return of children abducted from England and Wales to countries such as China and Mauritius, and have also secured the return of children abducted to England and Wales. I also advise on many cases that involve drug/alcohol use, domestic abuse and other serious welfare concerns.

My field of expertise spans all aspects of relationship breakdown, including divorce and finance. I also represent individuals who wish to relocate, both domestically and internationally which often includes resolving many of the complex issues of national and international law that arise.

Where possible, I favour mediation and other alternative methods of dispute resolution, which can help to resolve issues quickly and cost-effectively. However, if the need arises, I am an experienced litigator with an excellent record of success.

The breakdown of a family relationship is a difficult time, and my advice is always clear and sympathetic. The aim is to learn about your unique situation, and find the best way to achieve your objectives and address your concerns.

I also regularly write articles on family matters for the media and the SA Law website – you can read some of them here.
