Truss’ “bonfire of workers’ rights” Leaves Lawyers Unconvinced

In a recently published article in publication International Employment Lawyer, James Cresswell comments on Lis Truss’ proposal of scrapping workers’ rights and the impact it could have on employers and employees.

The Conservative Party’s Liz Truss wants to review existing EU worker protections in an attempt to improve the competitiveness of the UK economy.

Proposed changes affect:

  • EU-derived 48-hour working week
  • Rules on taking breaks
  • Calculating holiday pay
