GDPR: two years on

The successes and failures of the GDPR
Mon 3rd Aug 2020

Partner and Head of Employment and Data Protection, Chris Cook writes in Elite Business about the recent European Commission review of the past two years since the GDPR came into force and it's success and failures.

The European Commissions recent report explains that 69% of over 16s in the EU were aware of the GDPR and 71% have heard of their national data protection authority that is in place to assist with GDPR compliance.

Chris Cook goes onto write about the impact of the General Data Protection Act on SMEs, the costs associated with it, what areas of the GDPR incur the greatest costs and the extent of non-compliance since the introduction of the GDPR.
