SA Law is delighted to be taking part in the Junior Lawyer Divisions' 30 day team challenge to walk or run 500 miles to raise funds for Refuge.
The challenge commenced on 2 January and our team of 20 SA Law volunteers will be avidly recording their miles and using their daily lockdown exercise to tally up the mileage until the challenge comes to a close on 31 January 2021.
"The JLD Challenge is a wonderful opportunity for us to get involved in to raise money for a brilliant cause." - Lizzy Trueman, SA Law Team Challenge Captain, JLD National Representative for Hertfordshire and Hertfordshire Law Society Junior Lawyer Division Representative
Refuge supports individuals through helping them rebuild their lives and overcome many different forms of violence and abuse; for example domestic violence, sexual violence, so-called ‘honour’-based violence, human trafficking and modern slavery, and female genital mutilation. Find out more about Refuge.
"We are aware that domestic violence and abuse has significantly increased during COVID, and we want to show our support and unity to Refuge through raising funds for the work they will continue to do." - Junior Lawyers Division
Each of the 20 SA Law staff taking part in the challenge will use Strava to track their walks/runs to collectively walk/run 500 miles. Representatives from across all over SA Laws departments have taken up the challenge including wills, real estate, litigation, marketing, finance, and employment - meet the team below. You can view the team's Strava club page here.
