SA Law in the Community – Year in Review 2025 | Thursday 18 December 2025 | 6 min read
Community remains central to how SA Law operates. It shapes how we work together internally and how we show up externally, through partnerships, sponsorships and practical support for the people and organisations around us.
This year marked several major milestones for the firm. We celebrated our 20th anniversary, a moment to reflect on how far we’ve come and where we’re heading next. We also achieved B Corp accreditation, recognising our commitment to balancing profit with purpose, accountability and positive impact. Alongside this, we completed a rebrand, setting a clear platform for the next stage of growth.
Those developments ran in parallel with a full year of community involvement. From local charities and schools to regional events and national partners, we stayed focused on action, consistency and outcomes.
Month by month, here’s a snapshot of what the SA Law team has been involved in.
January
Watford Football Club partnership – as a WFC Partner, we support the club’s commercial and community goals through pitch-side advertising, matchday engagement and business networking, strengthening connections across Hertfordshire.
February
Goods for Good volunteering day – focused on delivering practical humanitarian aid, Goods for Good distributes essential items to people facing poverty, displacement and crisis in the UK and overseas. The SA Law team packed over 150 boxes of shoes and clothing over two days, helping ensure vital supplies reach those who need them most.
March
St Albans Pancake Festival – an exciting annual event bringing residents together for some friendly pancake-flipping fun in St Albans. SA Law has been the headline sponsor of this event for many years. Event sponsorship ensures that 100% of participant entry fees are donated to Home-Start Hertfordshire, helping the charity continue its vital support for local families.
St Albans Chamber of Commerce International Women’s Day Lunch sponsorship – this event brings together senior businesswomen to celebrate achievement, share insight and encourage progress across the local business community.
Goods for Good 10th Anniversary Dinner table sponsor – marking a decade of humanitarian aid delivery, this event celebrated the charity’s impact supporting vulnerable communities affected by poverty, disaster and displacement. It also, of course, helped them to raise vital funds to continue their work.
Animal Support Angels Quiz Night sponsor– supporting a charity that combines animal welfare with support for pet owners and charities. Sponsorship included prizes and table décor to help maximise fundraising.
Soil Squad CIC partnership – creating a local circular system, Soil Squad collects office food waste from local businesses using zero-emission transport and converts it into living compost. The compost supports the garden at St Albans Girls’ School, improving soil health and local ecosystems without added emissions.
April
St George’s Day Lunch sponsor– celebrating local business while raising funds for community causes, this long-standing event brings together organisations from across St Albans.
Twisted Cheer and Dance fundraising – supporting 37 athletes preparing for international competitions in 2025. We donated some of our Watford Football Club tickets as an auction prize, helping to raise over £12,000 for the sports team.
May
Mental Health Awareness Month Walking Challenge – encouraging movement, fresh air and consistency, 47 colleagues logged 14.7 million steps across May, covering the equivalent distance from St Albans to Singapore. Our walkers also raised funds for Pancreatic Cancer UK (in memory of our much-missed colleague Lesley) and Papyrus (a mental health charity for the prevention of suicide in young people).
June
St Albans Half Marathon sponsorship – supporting the 5k, the inaugural 10k, the half marathon and the fun run, the event saw a record number of participants from across the firm, alongside friends and family.
Inspiring Hertfordshire Awards (joint headline sponsor) – celebrating Hertfordshire’s most impactful businesses and community organisations, this event brought together over 400 leaders to recognise innovation, resilience and positive change.
Hertfordshire County Show sponsorship – welcoming thousands of visitors each year, the show celebrates local produce, skills and family entertainment, with sponsorship supporting continued investment and improvement.
July
Hillier Hopkins 5-a-side football tournament – local businesses, including SA Law, paid to play, raising £4,500 for The Hospice of St Francis, which provides specialist palliative care and family support across Hertfordshire and Buckinghamshire.
August
Twisted Cheer and Dance support – for the second time this year, we donated an auction prize to this local sports team to help them participate in championship events. Money raised will help prepare the teams for these opportunities, as well as help go towards training kits.
September
St Francis Golf Day – sponsorship of a ‘hole’ on the course helped raise funds for The Hospice of St Francis, supporting compassionate end-of-life care for patients and families.
Ashridge Golf Day – event sponsorship supported local charitable fundraising through a well-established community fixture.
Cam O’Connor memorial raffle – held in honour of a former Tabard rugby player, the raffle raised almost £900 for Orchid, a charity funding research into male cancers and promoting early diagnosis.
