SA Law strengthens its position in latest Chambers rankings | Tuesday 13 October 2026 | 3 min read
SA Law has strengthened its position in the latest Chambers UK Guide, with five practice areas and 17 individual lawyers recognised for their expertise and client work.
Chambers is one of the world’s leading legal market research organisations, and its independent research assesses law firms and individual lawyers on factors including technical legal ability, professional conduct, client service, commercial awareness, and commitment to clients. The latest Chambers results build on SA Law’s strong performance in the recent Legal 500 rankings.
This year, all previously ranked departments and individuals maintained or improved their positions, and achieved some notable new rankings:
SA Law’s Employment practice strengthened its position, moving up to Band 2. The team was praised for “demonstrating strong technical expertise” and being “fully attuned to the clients’ needs”. Chris Cook retained his Band 1 individual ranking, while Christine Caffrey improved her ranking to Star Associate.
The Family practice retained its longstanding Band 1 ranking, with the team praised for their combination of “expert legal and strategic guidance with empathy and practical support”. Marilyn Bell retained her Band 1 individual ranking, while Kiran Beeharry maintained his Band 2 ranking. Simran Gupta was promoted to Star Associate, and Julie Cohen received a new individual ranking, bringing the number of individually ranked lawyers in the team to four, highlighting its depth of expertise.
SA Law’s first-ever ranking in Construction is another highlight, with the practice achieving Band 2. The team was praised for combining “deep legal expertise” with “a genuinely client-focused approach”. Robert Ryall was also recognised individually in Construction for the first time, receiving a Band 2 ranking. Chambers highlighted Robert’s expertise across the legal and technical aspects of construction disputes, praising his “keen eye for detail, strategic judgement and the ability to look several steps ahead”.
In Corporate & Commercial, Vincent Billings moved up to Band 2 and was described by clients as “pragmatic, commercial and responsive”. Other new or improved rankings this year included Helen Young in the Commercial Litigation & Dispute Resolution team as a Star Associate, and Victoria King in the Real Estate team as an Associate to Watch.
SA Law’s Joint Managing Partner Tracy Lacey-Smith, commented:
“It’s rewarding to see SA Law’s continued growth and development reflected in this year’s Chambers rankings. To have multiple practice areas and individual lawyers recognised, including our first ranking for Construction, is a clear reflection of the depth and quality of expertise across the firm.
“As we continue to grow, our focus remains on building a firm that gives both individuals and businesses the confidence and clarity to shape their futures on their own terms. These results show that we’re continuing to strengthen our position while staying true to the client-focused approach that has always been at the heart of SA Law.”
SA Law’s Joint Managing Partner Steve Ryan added:
“What makes these rankings particularly meaningful is the feedback from our clients. The comments highlight not only the strength of our legal expertise, but the practical advice and empathy that our lawyers provide. Ultimately, the trust our clients place in us is the recognition that matters most.
“That approach is also reflected in who we are as a business. As a certified B Corp, we believe that being a successful law firm means balancing profit with purpose and considering the impact we have on our clients, our people, our communities, and the planet. We’re proud that our continued professional recognition sits alongside that wider commitment to responsible business.”
