SA Law is a dynamic law firm with a strong commitment to excellence, innovation and the development of legal talent. We pride ourselves on having a family feel and prioritise being approachable, confident and friendly.
We are a full-service firm operating in St Albans, Hertfordshire that provides legal services to help businesses to grow, develop their people and protect their positions. We also assist individuals to start afresh, protect and create the futures they want.
Our 80 strong team enjoys working with a thriving, diverse client base of entrepreneurs, SMEs, household names, high net worth individuals and families in the UK and internationally.
We believe in nurturing and mentoring the brightest legal minds of tomorrow. Our team is supported by a comprehensive training and development programme, excellent technology infrastructure and grade A office facilities. We promote a strong collegiate culture and are home to some of the leading legal experts in the region to guide and mentor you.
What You'll Gain
Our Graduate Legal Apprenticeship scheme will support you through the new Solicitors Qualifying Exam (SQE) pathway to qualification and admission as a solicitor. You will study for your SQE 1 and 2 exams with BPP University while gaining two years qualifying work experience as you rotate through different seats across our practice areas.
The scheme lasts for 32 months during which we will pay you a competitive salary and fund your course at BPP University. Commencing in September 2025, you will work four days per week at our St Albans office and dedicate the fifth day to studying with BPP.
Our scheme allows you to qualify into the legal sector while you gain experience and earn a salary without having to make a further (considerable) financial investment in course fees.
As an SA Law Graduate Legal Apprentice, you’ll enjoy a comprehensive training program that includes:
- Support & Mentoring: You’ll work with experienced legal and business support professionals who will guide you through your apprenticeship and help you to develop your skills and knowledge as well as build a professional network.
- Experience: You will be encouraged to develop increasing responsibility through support from your Head of Department and Training Principal. You will also be supporting lawyers with client matters, attending client meetings, drafting, project-planning, and attending court.
- Training: We'll provide you with training and development opportunities that ensure that you build a strong foundation in legal principles and procedures.
- Networking: You'll have the chance to connect with our clients, contacts, partners, and fellow legal professionals to establish your network and open doors to your future legal career. We actively encourage and support our trainee lawyers to get involved in marketing, networking, training and social events hosted by the firm.
- Diversity and Inclusion: We embrace diversity and inclusion, and promote a supportive and inclusive workplace where all voices are valued and heard.
We also keen to receive CVs from candidates that have completed their LPC and/or SQE exams who are looking for a period of recognised training or qualifying work experience. You will receive support and professional guidance from our Training Principal, as well as support from each Head of Department as you rotate through different seats across our practice areas.
