Thu 8th Jan 2015

I, along with my colleague Victoria Thomson were delighted to be involved in the launch of the St Albans Professional Services Hub ‘City of Expertise’ campaign today at St Albans City Rail Station.

The Professional Services Group devised the ‘City of Expertise’ inititative to highlight the combined skills of the cluster of professional services firms working in St Albans District. The campaign aims to promote the City as a centre for professional services expertise on the local, regional and national stage.

The Group is led by St Albans City & District Council and is supported by St Albans Chamber of Commerce along with a panel of representatives from 18 local profesional services firms including Lawyers, Accountants, Banks and Chartered Surveyors. The 18 members of the group are: SA Law, Aitchison Raffety, AON, Barclays, Clydesdale Bank, Debenhams Ottaway, Deloitte, Grant Thornton, Handelsbanken, Kingston Smith, Lambert Smith Hampton, Mercer & Hole, Rayden Solicitors, Rayner Essex, Rumball Sedgwick, Sherrards Solicitors, Taylor Walton and WMT.

St Albans is home to around 80 Chartered Accountancy firms, 50 legal firms and many firms of chartered surveyors. The City is also located in one of the top 10 areas for employment in professional services occupations in England.

A ‘City of Expertise’ website has been developed to showcase the skills available in St Albans which is available at: www.cityofexpertise.com. Posters promoting St Albans as the City of Expertise have also been placed at St Albans City and Harpenden railway stations, key entrance points to the District.
