Bonfire night is nearly upon us and many children are looking forward to attending fireworks displays and eating toffee apples.
Watching fireworks dazzle the night sky and bonfires ablaze can be an enjoyable outing for all, but by its very nature, it can also present danger, particularly if you are having fireworks or a bonfire at home.
If an accident does occur and you require medical treatment for your child(ren), always remember to notify others with parental responsibility as soon as it is practicable and safe to do so. Whilst parental responsibility allows you to consent for medical treatment on behalf of your child(ren), when it comes to serious issues, such as hospital admissions, you do need to recognise the sharing of parental responsibility and ensure that you keep the other parent informed and make joint decisions in the best interests of the child(ren).
We wish you an enjoyable bonfire night! Have fun and stay safe!
