Lawyers are back on their bikes for Peace Hospice Care in the Prudential RideLondon–Surrey 100
On 2nd August 2015 SA Law’s experienced cyclists Terence Ritchie and Simon Walsh are taking part in the Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100. The 100 mile balloted event will take our team from the Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, across London, up and down the Surrey hills before an iconic finish on The Mall shortly before 150 of the world’s best professional riders attack a very similar course including Sir Bradley Wiggins, Mark Cavendish, Andrei Greipel and Rohan Dennis.
The team, and the whole firm, is proud to be cycling on behalf of Peace Hospice Care. Not only does PHC care for those suffering terminal and life limiting illnesses, it also supports those affected by these conditions, including their family members.
Staff in both our St Albans and London offices are fully engaged in our fund raising effort in some shape or form, whether completing the St Albans Half Marathon in June (which I also ran), donating via dress down days or supplying cakes for bake sales in the run up to the main event in August, everyone’s pitching in for a charity that’s close to many of our hearts. To date we have raised £1,382.22 of our £4,000 target.
There is a general misconception that hospices only provide on-site care and support but the message we want to help PHC get out is that the services it offers extend far beyond the Peace Hospice itself and enable it to help many more people with the support it can offer those who need it, for instance PHC’s Hospice at Home service and juvenile bereavement counselling. This comes at a cost though and this is why SA Law continues to support PHC.
Myself and fellow riders are training hard and are all the more determined to get good times and hit our fundraising target because one of our team members has just had to drop out after being hit by a car on a training ride and sustaining several broken bones.
If you are able to support our fundraising challenge with a donation, no matter how small, please visit our BT Donate page.
Thank you, and wish the team luck!
