SA Law 'cooks for cookers'

SA Law is a keen sponsor of the St Albans Food and Drink Festival so we thought we would do something extra special this year. We’re delighted to announce our foodie fundraising initiative ‘Cooking for Cookers’.

We are hosting a fun evening at Oaklands College on 1st November, where we will serve dinner for the first 50 people to buy tickets. All proceeds will help to buy a new professional oven for the Luton branch of the Salvation Army, which provides hundreds of people with hot meals every week.

As a volunteer cook for this charity for a number of years, I can vouch for the exceptional support it provides to the local community. Each week, we help people from a variety of backgrounds and social circumstances, such as those who are homeless, elderly or on low income. Unfortunately, many years of service have taken their toll on the oven, and an effective replacement is desperately needed.

SA Law staff members will be the chefs for our fundraising event, and will prepare two recipes from our St Albans Food and Drink Festival cook book. We will be overseen by Oaklands College Head Chef Martin West, who is delighted to take part. Prior to the evening, Martin will be imparting the budding SA Law chefs with some essential knowledge and skills on how to cook for 50 people.

We greatly value your support, so please visit our event page to book a ticket or donate towards our fundraising initiative on the JustGiving page to help us reach our target of £1000. If we raise enough money, we also hope to improve the facilities at the St Albans branch of the Salvation Army as well.

Thank you for your support.
