In the Summertime
Over the past few months, team SA Law have really upped our game when it comes to our Corporate Social Responsibility. Not only did we sponsor the St Albans Half Marathon again, but we had a team in the Corporate Challenge 5K and won. We also had 15 members of staff going head-to-head in the Push it for Peace’ 5 miles Assault Course over in Chiswell Green on the 24th September And, just so it wasn't all mud, sweat and tears, we are again proud to be the headline sponsors of the St Albans and Harpenden Food and Drink Festival which came to an end on October 3rd.
The summer started off with our headline sponsorship of the St Albans Half Marathon where we launched our very own ‘Corporate Challenge’. This saw local businesses race against each other in both the 5K and the half marathon. Tough competition came from companies such as Coca Cola, Sherrards Solicitors, Photiades, the University of Hertfordshire and many more. The winners of the day were Sherrards Solicitors who won the half marathon challenge, and team SA Law won the 5K. Both winning teams were awarded £250 to a charity of their choice. SA Law chose the Hospice of St Francis, a charity close to many of our staff’s hearts and a charity which we are proud to be a corporate member of.
We also held a golf day at Porters Park Golf Club with staff and friends of the firm, the friendly but highly competitive event raised £1,600 for the Watford FC Community Sports & Education Trust. It was appropriate that two Watford FC legends, both past players of the season, former goal keeper Alec Chamberlain and defender Steve Palmer, were among those to tackle the picturesque, inspiring and challenging parkland course. We took part in the ‘Push it for Peace’ assault course on the 24th September to raise money for Peace Hospice Care. This saw 15 staff members, split into three teams; 'Law & Odour', 'The Mudley Crew' and 'Mind over Mudder' go head-to-head on/in/under and over the course. We managed to raise over £2300 for the Peace Hospice, Click here to find out more and see photos from the day.
Finally, we were proud to sponsor the St Albans and Harpenden Food and Drink Festival, which began on the 25th September and came to an end on October 3rd. The festival brings a brilliant opportunity for local restaurants and bars to showcase their best products and a fantastic chance for locals to taste a great range of food and drink…which meant ‘Team SA Law’ could finally relax with a glass of wine or two after a busy summer! As well as sponsoring the festival, we created our second recipe book filled with recipes from staff and friends of the firm. You can download the book or find out more by clicking here.
We have prepared a press release on all of the winners of the St Albans and Harpenden Food & Drink Festival 2016. Click here to read all about it.
