Congratulations to the winners of the St Albans & Harpenden Food & Drink Festival Awards 2016
There has been a frenzy of tasting, testing, sampling and digesting as the bon viveurs of St Albans and Harpenden were tasked with finding the winners of this year’s prestigious Food & Drink Festival.
Sponsored for a second time by SA Law, the competition showcases and celebrates the rich diversity of fabulous food and wonderful drink available in the district and rewards and applauds those businesses that excel in terms of quality produce, outstanding customer service and overall conviviality.
Nominees in this year’s competition did not disappoint – in time honoured fashion, the cream rose to the top.
SA Law proudly offers hearty congratulations to these culinary kings and queens, winners in no less than 10 mouth-watering categories, from best local restaurant and best pub, to best foodie market stall and outstanding customer service.
Each was honoured during a gala evening at Sopwell House Hotel on Monday, October 3 – each is worthy of a visit in the very near future. Once tried, you will be tempted back time and time again.

George Street Canteen won Most family friendly venue
Godfrey’s Fish & Chips won best takeaway
The Cheese Wheeler won best market stall
Bakehouse won best café
Ye Olde Fighting Cocks won best pub
Dylan’s The Kings Arms won Best Bar
Tabure won best newcomer
Samera Butt from the Six Bells won the Kate D’Arcy award for customer service
Dylan’s The Kings Arms won Best restaurant
Chris Evans, owner of Hatch & co-owner of Panko won Food & Drink Champion
