Mock Employment Tribunal

Help your organisation prepare for the expected rise in employment tribunal claims

Due to popular demand, we're running this event again in 2018 and we're opening up the waitlist in advance.

These events become fully-booked quickly and we want to make sure HR professionals and Senior Managers are granted attendance, so please register using your work email only.

The number of employment tribunal claims is expected to rise after the Government’s recent decision to abolish fees. With less risk for employees who wish to make a claim, SA Law’s popular mock tribunal sessions are helping employers to prepare.

Background

The introduction of employment tribunal fees in 2013 saw claims from employees drop by over 70%. However, when a recent Supreme Court decision declared them unlawful , the Government had little choice but to abolish them.

What does this the abolishment of employment tribunal fees mean for employers?

This development is expected to encourage more employees to make claims and, with costs of defending claims sometimes running upwards of £10,000 - £20,000, this is set to increase the financial risk for employers significantly.

What should you be doing?

Organisations are being encouraged to ensure their grievance, disciplinary and performance processes are fully compliant, their managers are trained in handling such issues, and that they are familiar with the tribunal process. This can help you prepare an effective defence posture from the moment a claim is raised.

Drawing insights from a fictional case that highlights a common claim situation, SA Law’s popular mock employment tribunal event will show you exactly what happens, and includes guidance from our expert employment team on the best way to approach them.

Designed for senior HR professionals and owner-managers, the session includes advice on:

As always, SA Law’s seminars are friendly and informal, and offer excellent opportunities to put your questions to the panel, chat with legal experts one-to-one, and network with peers.
