How will the GDPR affect your business?

Get up to speed with the General Data Protection Regulation; the biggest change to data privacy law in the last 20 years which will apply to all UK organisations.

Due to popular demand SA Law is delighted to re-run this event that was previously hosted in December 2017 for Watford Chamber of Commerce members.

The agenda

During the session, SA Law's expert Data & Privacy team will explore what the General Data Protection Regulation is, why the changes are happening and the key considerations and milestones on the road to compliance.

Whether you're well on your way with planning or only just starting to investigate your obligations under the GDPR, this session is open to all senior decision makers and will explain how SA Law is approaching each stage of compliance from initial auditing to implementation and deployment.

"The session was informative, helpful & interesting."

"I thought it was concise and accessible"

What is GDPR?

The EU General Data Protection Regulation is the biggest change to data privacy law in the past 20 years. The GDPR comes into force on 25th May 2018, but organisations are recommended to start preparing for the changes as soon as possible to avoid non-compliance. Key points about the GDPR include:

  • The GDPR is new legislation for collecting & processing personal data in the EU
  • It replaces the Data Protection Directive & harmonises data protection laws across the EU
  • It will affect organisations processing personal data or EU individuals in relation to offering goods and services, or to monitor their behaviour
  • The GDPR will apply to both data controllers and data processors

This event delivered by SA law will cover key items to consider, the changes and a plan for how to prepare your organisation for the General Data Protection Regulation.
