The well-attended pancake day race is back, and it's bigger than ever. This year, it will take place on the 13th February, outside St Albans town hall. The Hertfordshire Business Independent and local charity, Home Start Herts, which helps children and families, have taken over the organisation of the event and have arranged an array of activities between 12 and 4pm; from the well-known 'flipping' races, to children's 'mini flippers' races, activities and entertainment.
Suzy Moody, Strategic manager at Home Start Herts said "This year pancake day falls in half term. It was a great opportunity for us to develop the traditional St Albans pancake race event into something bigger to include families and children and hopefully raise more money for Home-Start Herts.
When SA Law agreed to become headline sponsor we were delighted. We were able to go ahead with our plans and start organising St Albans’ first Pancake Festival, which we could not have done without their support."
Marilyn Bell, partner and head of family law at SA Law said: “We are very pleased to sponsor the Pancake Festival Day in St Albans and support Home Start Herts who will benefit from this flipping fantastic event! SA Law will be entering a team to try and win the coveted frying pan award...We look forward to seeing you at the starting line.”
